Who founded Ferrari?
Ferrari was founded by Enzo Ferrari (1898–1988): in 1929 as the racing team Scuderia Ferrari in Modena; in 1947 the 125 S became the first car built under the Ferrari name.
Enzo Ferrari was a racing driver and entrepreneur from Modena, founder of Scuderia Ferrari in Grand Prix racing and later of the Ferrari car brand. His desire to become a racing driver arose in 1908 when, as a ten-year-old, he witnessed Felice Nazzaro's victory at the Circuito di Bologna. Under his leadership, Ferrari won nine Drivers' and eight Constructors' World Championships in Formula 1 during his lifetime. British rivals nicknamed him "il Drake" after the privateer Francis Drake because he achieved such great sporting success with his small company; he was also known as "il Commendatore."
