Scuderia Ferrari was founded in 1929. On November 16, 1929 in Modena—as a racing team fielding Alfa Romeo cars. 1939: Split with Alfa Romeo. Enzo founded Auto Avio Costruzioni; he was not allowed to use the Ferrari name for racing cars for four years. The first car to bear the Ferrari name, the 125 S, was built in 1947.
