José Froilán González was an Argentine racing driver, nicknamed "The Pampas Bull." At the 1951 British Grand Prix, he claimed Ferrari's first victory in a Formula 1 World Championship race. In 1954, he was runner-up in the World Championship with Ferrari, and he also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ferrari. On the 60th anniversary of that first victory, Ferrari and the FIA honored him at the 2011 British Grand Prix: Fernando Alonso drove four laps in González's Ferrari 375 F1 around the Silverstone circuit.
