Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips was a German racing driver from a Rhenish noble family. In Formula 1, he made his debut with Ferrari at the 1956 Italian Grand Prix, but did not start the race. In July 1960, he won the Solitude Formula 2 Grand Prix in a Ferrari featuring the newly introduced rear engine, and in May 1961 the Targa Florio. Following his fatal accident at Monza, he became posthumous runner-up in the 1961 World Championship with Ferrari.
